Pancakes and Glass Squashing.

It was Pancake day here yesterday, a day that we celebrate by cooking many, many pancakes, covering them with lemon and sugar ( a classic) and eating them until we feel way too full! I managed 4 yesterday which was just enough! We did have a disaster with the first one, despite my warnings, my husband decided to use the cast iron pan to cook his.. it wasn’t non stick and the result was a scrambled egg looking mess!

After all the pancakes had been eaten and I came down from my sugar high, I went to my weekly drawing lesson. Its such fun! And I learn loads. It's not just that though, I love the social side and having 3 hours a week where I can just swich off and play! This week it was Gouache ( or Goulash as I kept calling it) and we studied how to draw and paint boats.

I think I am improving slowly and it is brilliant inspiration for the glass work. I wonder if I will be able to use this weeks lesson?

Talking of glass and sticking with the round, flat things theme.. I had my first go at glass pressing this week and I am in love! As it was my first go, I just used some scraps and put it in a pile, there was no rhyme or reason to it, after pressing it I ended up with a thin piece of glass that I loved. I will definitely be trying the technique again, this time being more careful with what glass I use and where I place it.

I already have plans for the result… I am always experimenting!
